17 Life Lessons from 34 Years of Dealing with Life
They don't teach you this in school, hunnie
Write these on your heart, Save them to read again
They say:
- go to school
- get good grades
- so you can get a good job
and maybe your life will work out.
But NOTHING I learned in school prepared me for the harsh reality of Life.
Here are 17 Lessons from 34 years of dealing with Life:
2. art doing the things you ALREADY know how to do well.
3. Life is just a blink we experience over the course of years. You are here then you are not. Use your time well.
4. There is no separation between death and life.
To live is to die. To die is to live again.
Kill the fear. Death is not the end but the continuation of life.
5. Don't get Tuition and forget to use your INTUITION.
The answers you're are already Within you.
- question evarything
- ponder the answers
- never take things as they appear to be
6. It is important to FAIL. If you're not fucking it up sometimes, you're not even trying.
7. Evarything you want in life is on the other side of growth.
You must develop your:
• Mind - read, then write
• Spirit - align, then serve
• Body - eat right, then train
Then commit to only doing work you're proud of.
8. The best time to start the thing is Today
9. Don't let Overthinking kill you before you die.
Practice presence daily:
• meditate
• take quiet walks
• write your thoughts
Life is happening in the 'now'.
You must seize the moment.
10. Nobody can like you more than you like yourself. You are all you have.
11. Your true life's work is not about you.
It is bigger than you. Instead of focusing on only what you can do for you, start opening yourself up to uncover what you can do for others.
When you go from ME, ME, ME to WE, WE, WE - you unlock life's cheat code.
12. There’s no escape when it is yourself you are running away from.
No matter where you go, there you are.
Face your shit, now.
13. Owning your human errors and mistakes. Take back your power from the curse of regret.
You fucked up, cool. Forgive yourself and move on
14. You are You, you're not what you do.
Suffering abounds if you think of yourself only in terms of what you do.
Drop the labels. Your identity is bigger than what you do.
15. Don’t go back to what broke you, hoping it will put you back together. It will only break you again.
16. Overanalyzing and overthinking will never get the results required from taking action
Right action beats planning when planning doesn’t act. Don't be a talk-and-no-do
17. If you don't like where you are now, you can change it.
But you can only make changes from where you are now.
So face your shit.
Ask:
- what did I do to fuck this up?
- what must I do now to level up?
Then take the right, next step without hesitation.
______
I hope this helps today as you go on your way.
